How employers should help prevent factory accidents
Your employer has the legal duty to protect your health and safety of in the workplace. To mitigate risks as far as reasonably possible your employer should:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and eliminate possible hazards.
- Supply staff with the right PPE.
- Put in place measures to keep the warehouse clean, tidy and free from obstacles and spillages.
- Regularly inspect equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Ensure that staff are trained to work at height and in manual handling.
