Warehouse collision causes personal injury
13 March 2025
The case:
Our client was employed by a well-known supermarket as a Warehouse Manager in one of its distribution centres.
In the course of his employment with the defendant, our client was checking delivered stock when another employee, who was operating an Order Picking Truck (‘OPT’), reversed into our client causing him injuries. Our client was wearing the necessary PPE.
Our client was knocked to the ground and under the pallets which were stacked on the back of the OPT. The driver did not realise that our client was trapped until he drove forwards, only then our client’s right leg and ankle were released.
Our client attended A&E where he was checked over and x-rays were taken. Although there were no bone injuries, our client sustained a nasty crush injury to his right foot and ankle which restricted his mobility for 6 weeks when he had to use crutches and wear a moon boot. He was absent from work during that period. Fortunately, he reached full recovery within a year from the accident.
How we helped:
The case settled and our client received £7,000 in compensation.
Upon the settlement of his case our client commented “Highly recommended! True Solicitors truly went above and beyond. 10/10.”
