True Solicitors becomes a member of ACSO
30 October 2020
True Solicitors are happy to announce that we are now a member of ACSO – the Association of Consumer Support Organisations (ACSO).
ACSO was launched in January 2019, as a trade association that represents the interests of consumers and companies who support the civil justice system. Its mission is to engage positively with policymakers, regulators, industry and the media to ensure there is a properly functioning, competitive and sustainable justice system for honest consumers.
True are one of the sixty members of the organisation made up of consumer law firms, lawtech companies, road safety charities, legal insurance providers and medical agencies.
ACSO gives companies that work in the claims sector a single, powerful voice that has the interests of consumers at its core.
ACSO’s executive director Matthew Maxwell Scott, has described the pandemic as having ‘accelerated a sense that the industry needed to coalesce in order to defend consumer interests.’ Raising big questions in respect of access to justice and the rights of consumers in the current recessionary economy, that can’t be answered by a countless of small special-interest groups.
As a member of ACSO True are pleased to be able to be able to be part of an organisation that provides coherent and expert responses to regulatory challenges, as well as practical answers to the question of how we maintain access to justice, control unnecessary costs, tackle poor behaviour in the wider insurance sector and make sure the most vulnerable in our society get the treatment and, where appropriate, compensation they deserve.
