In 2023-2024, True nominated Maggie’s Newcastle as their sponsored charity for the year.
Based at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, the centre is a warm and welcoming place to unwind, a place to find information or switch off from it, a place to talk about cancer or forget about it.
As a result of our 2023 annual fundraising day along with numerous other fundraising activities throughout the year such as raffles and bake sales, we raised a fantastic £1,800 for our chosen charity.
After a member of our own team found herself using the centre during and after the loss of her husband to cancer in 2024, a further fundraiser was held to remember her husband and raise additional funds for the centre. An incredible £5,030 was raised as a result of the event in November 2024.
We were honoured to be invited to visit the Maggie’s Centre on Monday 17th February 2025, to present our fundraising cheque along with the Bamford family and their cheque, to help ‘pay for a day’ to run the centre, the day after what would have been David’s 60th birthday.
