Client injured in supermarket

8 April 2025

The case:

Our client was shopping in their local supermarket.

In the chilled aisle, a member of the supermarket staff was manoeuvring tall metal cages containing cartons of fresh milk.

As our client reached down into one of the cages to get a carton of milk, the member of staff, who had their back to our client, pulled down the 12ft long metal bar which was used to keep the cage in place, trapping his arm.

He received extensive soft tissue injuries to his right arm and bruising to his wrist requiring pain medication and the use of a sling. His injuries also left him unable to drive or carry out household chores for several weeks.

How we helped:

Further examinations showed damage had been sustained to the superficial radial nerve which resulted in reduced sensation in his fingers.

Our client received £8,000 in compensation and he fully recovered from his injuries by 14 months.

On completion of his case, our client quotes “I had Vicky (Mills) handle my personal injury claim on behalf of True Solicitors. Vicky kept me informed throughout the process, giving sound and honest advice throughout. From the experience I had, I would highly recommend True Solicitors.”
