On Wednesday 24th July 2024, 15 willing volunteers took part in a summer litter pick activity in Leazes Park, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The event, organised in conjunction with NE1, saw the team cover the entire area of the park over a 2 hour period.  The sun shone and the team were keen to collect as much litter as possible to keep the park looking good for the many families that will use it over the school summer holidays.

In total, we filled 22 black sacks of litter, with some of the most random finds including a rucksack, part of a tent, a chair and a pram wheel!
